The recent demolition of Englands finest Man United by majestic Barcelona in the Champions League final clearly highlighted the terminal state of let's call it domestic football .......... following closely on the heels of this ....... England U21's appalling showing at the European championships where they failed to get out of a group topped by none other than Spain ....... leads me to further believe what I have thought for 10 years now .... that something must drastically change in how we coach players from a young age .... otherwise we will be having this very same conversation for years to come ....... do what you've always done & you get what you've always got ........ WE MUST CHANGE how players are taught to play the game ....... NOW
A 4 year old kid learning the game has the same starting point as a 4 year old in Ireland or England .... it's how they are subsequently taught by the coaches that makes the Spanish players signifigantly better at the moment ....
